Sadness and beauty

I saw this striped skunk in the middle of the road this morning.  Yes, there is a song about that.

My immediate feeling was of sadness that such a beautiful creature died because we invented cars.  And for those feelings, I thank God for that sadness.  Not that it happened but because of how I felt.
My second reaction was to turn the car around and get a closer look simply to appreciate the beauty of one of His creations.

Genesis 1:28, “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
